The People

Jay Billig

I have a diverse background in which sustainability and green building/resource efficiency have been a natural state of being. Having studied music at The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, I discovered a more fulfilling creative outlet in space and structure. I ventured into self-realized employment in 1994 and have spent the past decade and a half creating and re-imagining spaces inside and out through home remodel design. I am registered with the Austin Green Building program, and am an advocate for new and re-purposed items and ideas that, when sown, blossom in increasingly sustainable ways. Other hats that I wear include: Father, gardener, runner, hiker, chef, science geek and the all encompassing, Oneness.

Hello friends. Here’s a bit of me. I graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental and Sustainable Resources in 2007. From there, I moved to Austin, earned my Certificate of Permaculture Design and began working with Jay. My favorite pastimes include, but are not limited to, gardening, loving my corgi, hiking, and being a father. My professional efforts are tantamount to my experiences and love for this beautiful world in which we dwell.
